ABOUT US
Ken and Carolyn Toney founded The Dwelling Place Church in February, 2008 with a simple Vision of Love, Discipleship, Destiny. They simply wanted to display the Love of Christ in action while following Christ’s mandate to make disciples of the Nations. In this process of loving hard and making disciples, they hoped believers would become aware of and walk in their God-appointed destiny.
Dwelling Place focused on Outreach Ministry and local Missions in it’s early days along with a weekly Bible Study in the Toney’s living room. Over the years, Dwelling Place has consistently operated in grocery outreach, street ministry, prayer ministry, young adult ministry and eventually evolved into a House of Prayer encompassing these activities. With a geographic shift from Midtown to Collierville in 2015, The Dwelling Place Church became Dwelling Place International Churches with an updated Vision to Gather, Engage, Equip and Send Disciples to the Nations.
DPIC is operating in it’s 13th year from it’s base in Collierville and is continuing to focus on Discipling Leaders, Planting Churches and Engaging in Strategic Intercession. Our focus on several key ministries including Mandate Leadership School, Friday Night House of Prayer, World Missions and Joseph’s Pantry has allowed the Toneys to continue the early focus on Making Disciples.
DPIC is actively engaged in Church Planting via it’s DPIC Ministry Network and works with leaders in Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and Washington, DC to expand the Kingdom. DPIC is actively engaged in supporting World Missions in Ghana, Mexico and India. Ken continues as a bi-vocational leader in the marketplace for over 25 years as an IT professional; Carolyn continues as a cosmetology educator for 10 years. Ken and Carolyn have 2 great children – Kennedie (22), Timothy (17) and one fur baby – Bella.
